If access point is blue or without color call the help desk. It is an AP (access point) issue. Managed downtown, and he can reboot from him. Electrical comes from ethernet.

If cover is off use a broom handle to recover.

Wireless Network

Q and A
  • Pushing software, power: make sure laptops are plugged into network, not wireless for pushing - not enough bandwidth. Power - batteries, if battery isn't bad take out and put in if still flashing after full night of charge
  • plug each power cord on new carts into different wall socket
  • check network switches if you aren't getting push through
  • Heat - need fan if you are having push overnight, leave doors open
  • add handles to the doors
  • use the new switch to push to older laptops too - kidney shaped tables
  • How will wireless carts print - pick a printer for laptops to print to and HEAT can push that to all laptops "tagging"
  • Printer tagging group policy allows printer to follow computer no matter who is using the computer :Use TCP/IP instead
  • what about a wireless printer that go with the carts - still in developement, testing that in one school
  • tag only one printer to a computer for best results (works at Linkhorn Park)
  • wireless we use A (maximum distance, low bandwidth) B (oppostie) G (Best of both worlds) N (new, best of the best, still in beta- get for home if possible)
  • blue - laptop connected /Green - working /red or off - problem
  • Laptops look for access points when the one in the classroom is overloaded
